Graduated in Applied Economics from IAG - Louvain School of Management (1989) and fluently trilingual FR-NL-EN, Jean-Simon began his career at Olivetti Belgium. After a few years, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to take up the challenge that faces EMG Computer Leasing, a small company only specialized in mainframes financing on a downsizing market. After a few months, Jean-Simon radically changed the business model of this small family-company by transforming the resistance to change into a real positive energy and allow this company to become the leader on the independent computer leasing market.
In 1998, Jean-Simon became the CEO of EMG Computer Leasing, EMG and EMG Luxembourg Holding. Then, at the entrance of Locabel in the capital of EMG Holding, he was responsible for conducting the integration of the company within the group BBL. In addition, Jean-Simon is also appointed CIO of Locabel and became the youngest member of the Executive Committee.
As CIO, he will successful assume the “Year 2000” conversion, the conversion to euro and the migration of many different "data models" into a single platform. To optimize Locabels’s business and administrative processes, and allow all ING network to propose leasing contracts, Jean-Simon conceptualizes and pilot the implementation of the "Web enabled Leasing" (WeL), an unique web based tool which won several awards, including the one granded by Oracle in San Francisco in 2005.
Between 2006 and 2009, Jean-Simon held the position of COO at ING Lease Belgium (previously Locabel), in charge of both commercial and administrative departments, with almost one billion euros in annual production, more than 40.000 active contracts with a team of +/-85 people.
Since 2010, as an independent expert, Jean-Simon conducts strategic missions and interim management by helping small and medium companies to face new challenges, helping them to develop their business strategy, to optimize the efficiency of their processes, to reduce their costs, to negotiate with financial institutions, etc.
